Shura Cherkassky plays Debussy

I saw Shura Cherkassky at a broadcast recital on 6 February 1984 at St John’s Smith Square, London. He was a small, slightly bent figure (he was well into his 70s at the time), holding his head to one side, with a quirky turn to his mouth (I managed to get a seat close to the stage, so I could see him up close).
Here he is, from that concert, playing Debussy’s Arabesque.
